What Are You Willing To Risk To Live Your Life Fully?

What Are You Willing To Risk To Live Your Life Fully?

Run from what’s comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now on I’ll be mad. ~ Rumi

Have you ever felt that your life was passing you by? Have you felt more ‘stuck’ lately, or just feeling that things were not moving for you as they should?

It is probably not pure chance that I have lately received an increasing number of individuals feeling that way. More often than not, Spirits’ answer comes down to a simple invitation: What are you willing to risk? What is expected of us (albeit in very exceptional circumstances) is not to put our physical lives at risk but to take mental risks so that we can become more alive

Re-creating movement in your life with an energy of giving

You may feel that there is not much movement in your life. But are you ready to move yourself? Are you ready to go out of your comfort zone, to let go of something precious to you (time, independence, some sense of comfort, a place where you have been forever, a certain way of doing your work, some beliefs, a certain identity, etc.)? In other words, are you ready to freely give something in order to make space for experiencing and receiving more, differently? I am not talking about sacrificing things. I am talking about giving freely, with joy (even in the midst of the loss), so that you can initiate movement, and open up to receiving differently.

You might choose to do it through a ritual: offering to the fire, water or earth an object that is very precious to you and that represents your willingness to let go and transform an important piece of who you are.

You might choose to embody it through a decision, big or small, that feels risky to you but that you are willing to take so that things start changing for you.

Choosing to truly live (and not only exist)

Believe it or not, research shows that mental risk is not only necessary for focused flow and growth… it is actually a fundamental factor of truly living versus merely existing. At the end of our lives, the question will always be: “Did you truly live?”

There is a vast difference between truly living and merely existing. And that difference comes from a small word: saying YES to life and the Universe more often.

You might want to choose it as a daily practice, at least for a while: Start each day with a big Yes to life; during the day, practice saying Yes each time you hesitate about something; at the end of each day, ask yourself: “How did I truly live today? When did I truly live?” not as a judgement of yourself (I did not ask “Did I?” but “How?” and “When?”) but as an awareness of how you have been showing up in your life that day.

Allowing the Universe to catch you

Taking risk also means that, by willingly stepping out of the no-movement zone, at time jumping into the void, you are allowing yourself to experience the Universe catching you and holding you. If you never take any risk, you will never know that feeling of being guided and supported; you will never truly experience that miracle of being held completely, everything becoming aligned one piece after another.

Of course, you might experience fear. But you will also allow yourself to choose love over fear as the ultimate letting go, choosing life fully.

So, my friend, what are YOU willing to risk to live your life fully?
